By default, SliQ Invoicing Plus stores data (company files) in the folder:
My Documents\SliQInvoicing
By default, SliQ Invoicing Lite stores data (company files) in the folder:
My Documents\SliQInvoicingLite
Note: These folders are only the default locations in which SliQ will save company files. You can copy a company file using Windows Explorer to any other folder on your PC (or network accessible folder).
In SliQ Invoicing, all data for a company is stored in files ending with the extension:
.slinvoice
The .slinvoice file will contain all the invoices, quotes etc. for the company. The filename will usually match the name of the associated company, e.g. a company called "New Business" will have its data stored in a file named:
new business.slinvoice
SliQ Invoicing Plus stores custom templates (templates you create using the invoice template editor) in this folder:
My Documents\SliQInvoicing\CustomTemplates
There are six types of template used with SliQ Invoicing. Each template will have the name you've chosen for the template with a different file extension depending on whether the template is an invoice, delivery note etc. For example, if you named an invoice template "My Template", the template would be stored in file:
my template.inv
The following table shows the file extensions for each type of template together with an example.
| Template Type | File Extension | Example Filename |
| Invoice | .inv | my template.inv |
| Invoice with Remittance Slip | .inr | my template.inr |
| Quote | .quo | my template.quo |
| Delivery Note | .dlr | my template.dlr |
| Statement | .sta | my template.sta |
| Statement with Remittance | .str | my template.str |
| Credit Note | .cre | my template.cre |
To open a company file you've copied to a new location, open the SliQ menu by clicking on the SliQ start button (the round button in the picture below):

Then click on the Company menu, choose Open and browse for the company file. The next time you start SliQ, SliQ will automatically reopen the file that was open when it was last closed.
Note: You can also use the Save As option in the Company menu to save the currently open company file to a new location. When SliQ is closed and reopened it will reopen the company file in its new location.
If you want to delete a company you can simply use Windows Explorer to delete the .slinvoice file.
Note: We recommend you take a backup of the file first just in case you delete the wrong file.
If you want to delete a custom template you can simply use Windows Explorer to delete the .inv, inr file as appropriate.
Note: We recommend you take a backup of the file first just in case you delete the wrong file.
